Candid Platinum Seal 2026

At Sea Turtle Patrol Hilton Head Island, our mission has always been rooted in the protective care and deep conservation of our nesting sea turtles and their hatchlings. But right alongside our commitment to the beach is our absolute commitment to accountability, integrity, and trust with you—our incredible community of volunteers, donors, and supporters.

Today, we are thrilled to announce that Sea Turtle Patrol HHI has officially earned the 2026 Candid Platinum Seal of Transparency! What is the Candid Platinum Seal?

Candid (formerly known as GuideStar) is the world’s largest database of nonprofit organizations, utilized by millions of institutional grantmakers, foundations, and everyday donors to evaluate charities. Nonprofits can earn Bronze, Silver, Gold, or Platinum status based on the depth of information they provide.

The Platinum Seal is the highest possible rating a nonprofit can achieve. It places Sea Turtle Patrol HHI in the top tier of charities nationwide. To earn this designation, we didn’t just submit basic financial paperwork—we provided full data on our precise operational strategies, board demographics, and measurable, quantitative impact metrics from our nesting seasons.

What This Means for Our Supporters

When you donate to Sea Turtle Patrol HHI, or dedicate a nest through our nest dedications program, you want to know exactly where your hard-earned money is going.

Our Platinum status means you can give with absolute confidence. It serves as independent, third-party verification that our organization is highly efficient, entirely transparent, and consistently turning your donations into real, on-the-ground marine conservation work.

Where to See Our Impact

Transparency means keeping our books and our data wide open. You can view our fully updated public profile, check out our goals, and dive into our official impact metrics directly on our Candid Nonprofit Profile.

We want to extend a massive thank you to our tireless patrol team, our dedicated auxiliary volunteers, and our community partners who keep our beaches safe every single day. We couldn’t have achieved this milestone without your trust and support.

See you out on the beach—and thank you for helping us share the shore!
